So I hacked Madam on Friday, i has to turn her when I first got on as a lorry was in the way and she did take a few strange steps ( but she can, she's 17 and isn't the straightest moving horse) Hacked her for an hour she was fine. Saturday hacked her took heer up the gallops and she finished hopping lame

She hasn't been lame in the 10 years I have had her

Farrier has been out today taken shoe off, found small corn but doesn't think that would make her as lame as she is. Told me to poultice for a few days and he will come back out and put the shoe back on. Leg is a bit hot but not massively. Any ideas? Or anything else you would do?

All I can suggest is that it may be her sacroilliac- ( if I remember rightly she had probs with this before?) the thing is about the sacrolilliac joint is that once it is injured, two parts of the joint stays more 'open' than it would in a normal horse, so it is always liable to be re-injured which can easily happen at any moment, and thus cause severe lameness, beginning with the odd funny step on a turn.
Would really v.highly recommend Ruth Mawer seeing her, have you heard of her? she is excellent with sacroliliac injuries. Even if its not the sacro, she will be able to pinpoint exactly where the prob is and will either fix it or say you need a vet- she's very honest like that.
