I've given up hope on trying to find a livery yard in the area (preferably south chelmsford - currently in Hanningfield)- i think i found the perfect one but its only open 7am -7pm, no good if you work in the city!!

So perhaps a new train of thought is a normal yard but somewhere that has a freelance livery person? (oh & a 20 x 60 & all year turnout - which doesn't have to be all day in the winter just some turnout!)

Does anyone have any ideas?

Try Sarah Fortt - 07956018729. She is my showing instructor and one of the few people I would trust with my horses. If I were nearer to Chelmsford, I would move tomorrow to her yard.

what is the postcode of the purleigh one.... i'll do a google map search - PM if its easier thanks :)

Does sarah fortt have a private yard? what sort of area is she located - again, PM me if easier!

Thanks :)

I gave you the number of Sarah's yard, which is in Purleigh, and you arranged to come and see it, but never showed up... I'm pretty sure.
I'm on the yard and it is THE most wonderful yard I've ever been on! For so many reason!
PM me if you want to know anything more about it.

Littlesoph - i remember this but i seem to remember the prices seeming cheap on the web site yet when i caled up there were additional prices on top.

currently i pay £112.50 per month inc everything (as well as nedsbed) but not wormer & suppliments.

Also i was a little bit apprehensive about the drive i live in Galleywood?

Look forward to hearing your comments :)

Is that for full livery?? That's incredibly cheap!! I pay £70 per week for part livery and then £5 if I want him mucked out and completely done for me for the day (I work away sometimes).
I go down once a day, most days, and just have to muck out, groom and ride. He's looked after as if he were their own... turned out, brought in, rugs changed, hayed, fed, watered. We have individual turn out as much as we want it (although it doesn't bother me if he stays in when the weathers awful), a menage, great hacking but best of all, it's a small, helpful friendly yard and I have made some of the best friends there!

There are 5 liveries at the moment I think and everyone pitches in and helps everyone else, it's a very very sociable yard too (we're going to Newmarket next week, we went to the Romford dogs the other night, had a BBQ and stayed in the lorry at the weekend and then went to Hickstead together the next morning... etc.) which for me is the best thing about the yard. There's always someone to help if you need it, or ride with, etc.

IMO you get what you pay for and having moved yards four times in the first 6 months of having Freddie, I would rather pay and know I was getting a fantastic yard and know my horse was well cared for... :)

There are quite a few around you - not sure where you are now but there are a couple of Galleywood common (am sure you know about those though, living in Galleywood) and a good few in the Hanningfields (as you prob know).

Rettendon too far ?

I live in Great Baddow, and I know there are a few livery yards in the Little baddow, Sandon and Danbury way. I asked in a lovely looking one but I wanted DIY at the time and they were a full/part livery yard so no good for me. I used to drive around and just go in and ask when I saw a stable and horses in a field! :D
