Anyone have any preferences/ dislikes/ experiences with either?

i have a 15.2 welsh d whos currently in a full cheek snaffle but needs better steering into fences and round corners xc he drops his head down and to the side so i loose his shoulder. if not the cheltenham or nelson does anyone have any other recommendations?

thanks!

I think the Cheltenham is a great bit! Use it on a very strong horse to event and different horses to hunt and they all go really well! The eventer can be difficult to steer but no problems in this.

If you need better steering, go for the Nelson as you have the added advantage of cheek pressure to help with steering. I find it a very helpful and useful bit, in careful hands!
