Well having got there at 9 as mum was in the start box helping i had plenty of time to get things ready!!

Me and my help for the day (dad was working, so draged along a racing/hunting friend!!) satrted off my walking the course which seemem quite nice apart from the sinnie brush thing and a combination near the end!

Once in got back from that lawri cleaned my tack and i gave song a quick hack around just to loosed him up! Then gave him a bath a plaited him just in time for lunch!

So started getting ready at about 1.30 (didnt want to be late!) for a 3.14 dressage test!! Lol

Well the dressage! He warmed up lovely - think i saw sarah jane again but again forgot who it was so didnt saw hello!!

Thought it was so nice to have a practice arena to go in before ur test as i do get a little carried away at the size of the arenas!

Anyway went in and he was a little star! apart from our 1st halt he triped with a back leg and stuch his head up! He did his cater walk cater all with his head down! *mirical* and got a 7 for one shoulder in (we usually get 5's) so i was over the moon to finish on 33.8 - our best int score to date!!

Then on to the sj - thank fully as we had parked next tp my trainer they came and helped me warm up. Jumped a few fences on went the weighed back boot (tried these for the 1st time anmd they seemed to work

) jumped another and went straight in! And we only had one down - and that was infront Lol!

Then the XC think i was green when i went in to the start box but the starter was great and we set off "full" of confidence knowing if i went fast i may be in with a shout of getting a placing! so i was kicking on after every fence and he gave me such an amazing feel flew over everything the angled rails, the bounce and the dreded rail, ditch, skinne with out batting an eyelid!! so flew the next few fences until we came to the waterm he jumped the boat coming in and then just put a front leg in to the water and just stayed there. I gave him a little kick but he just brought his leg back up. So i tried again and he did the same again so i retired but i think he was trying to tell me we was cream cracked!! bless him.

So all in all had a fab and relaxed day without the parents and just need to address the fitness issue before we go out again!!

No pics as we forgot the vid cam but will post a link when the pro ones are up

Thanks for reading xx

well done - enjoyed reading that - might be because i should be revising! but sounds like a good day - its fun without parents. i send mine off to walk the course so i can warm up on my own!!!!

One day we will get to say hello properly. It was quite a course for fitness and that water wasn't the easiest with light into dark. I could here you going round on the commentary and it seemed to be going really well so hard luck. Good dressage as well. Looks really promising for the rest of the season.

Where do you go next - are you at Sansaw?

One day it will all come together.
The dressage sounds brilliant and also the sjing.

Bless him, a couple of laps of that gallops should sort him out lol

Well done hunny, sounds very positive for next time.

Vx

Well done anyway - good on you for retiring rather than pushing Song - sounds like you are having classic 'eventing syndrome' - just as two phases come together, the other one falls apart

Aww well done beth! I did see you trot past me in the dressage warm up at about 11:20am. Thats an amazing dressage score though for intermediate - congrats!

I was there with mum to watch reashi, although we found out he ran the day before (I was also there on that day too but missed that!). So we watched Aly Rowell (pony club pal) instead. Angela finally got to wear her top hat and tails - woo! She got a 40.6 dressage, which wasn't too bad for a two * test, and she went double clear. She came 23rd or something in the end which she was pleased with. And Phil got lots of lovely comments from people for once, Angela only used to get them with Reashi!

well done! if it makes u feel any better chepstow water is notoriously difficult-for some reason alot of them dont like that water very much at all!

I went over with my son and saw quite a bit of the IN xc, lots of horses seemed to hesitate at the water, my little boy loved watching the horses splashing and was giveing advice to everyone going over the last jump, lady beside us was laughing as he shouted "1 2 3 jump now..no jump now" at matt ryan.
