Morning all

Well the wind and the rain started this weekend and it has me thinking about the upcoming season :)

Started some fittening work yesterday as I am determined to get out in the field this year after some time out breeding (horses, not people)

Noticed that the farmers have got some early meets through September this year but there is no location on the website ... Can any one help please ???

You will probably need to contact their secretary, who you will be able to find via the MFHA website.

Very few packs publicise their meets these days.

Hope you have good fun when you get out! It felt like a hunting morning this morning here too.....not long now!

I always hunted with the NECDH before but the Farmers seem to do more local ones to me and seem to be in slightly smaller numbers which will be good for my mare !

NE Cheshire do put there meets up so thats what got me thinking .. but You are right now I have thought about it - I'll email the sec

Thanks

I've been looking for some info on them online but I can only find photos !

I am thinking of mixing things up a little between the local hunts this season as a guest because I have beg steal and borrow transport. I know the Farmers go from the pub 1/2 a mile away so that is 2 guaranteed days per year !

The more I think about it the more I am looking forward to it !! :)

Farmers and NECDH are both drags and freely publish their meets. They aren't up because they don't know yet. Farmers locations are all Rudyard, Knutsford, Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Daresbury, Arley areas but they may not be published until late and are often changed late for ground conditions, so keep checking the website. Some NECDH are further away (Rochdale, for example) but many are the same sort of area.

I hunted with both last year and on the whole the Farmer's Fields were bigger than the Northeast by a small margin, but stay away from Children and Beginners if you want small fields.

No they don't put much online but if you get the chance do go out with them, absolutely great bunch of people, and depending on how much of a thrill seeker you are they have some flippin' awesome hedge days.
