So I am preparing to make my hunting debut and just wondered if anyone has any knowledge of this particular hunt. My mare has never hunted before and can be a bit of a nervous jumper so just wondering how suitable this hunt would be for someone who just wants to have a great experiance without too much pressure to jump a 4ft hedge! (I was thinking of doing the one from Smallwood in December)

Can't help you too much but I'm intending to go along for the first time on foot to suss it all out. It's not something either my mare or I have ever done but would love to try it.

Also, she is a total wuss and I would like to think it would help her in the bravery dept!

I'm hoping to go on foot in the next few weeks just to get to know few people and see what happens, what jumps are like, how much road work, fitness levels etc

Would also be interested in responses to this thread!

Hi

Been out with them for 3 seasons. V friendly and there is a way around everything. Personally I wouldnt go if you cant jump anything as sometimes bit os a pain to get around but if it wasnt easy to get around it is only ever a 2ft6 post and rail.

Look on the website and give Steve Evason a call for more details.
