Hi

Has anyone been on the farm ride at Cheshire Riding School? I have been Somerford a couple of times as know the way but noticed the CRS one on Internet. Does anyone know how long the ride is and how it compares to Somerford? Thinking of a day out there at weekend. Also wondering if there is a choice of jump heights.

Any info on good days out would be great. I keep my horse in Saddleworth and we have done beach, Somerford and Tatton Park a couple of times but wondering if there are any other days out which we don't know about as love to make the most of days out before shows start!

Cheers

Lisa

I've not been on the Cheshire Riding school one but Kelsall Hill horse ride is good. It used to be on the first and third weekend of every month on the edge of Delamere Forest.

Agree with previous post, Kelsall Hill is fab. Went at the weekend and couldn't have been more impressed. Delamere forest is another option, as is the Whitegate Way and Pennington Flash. Sorry, don't know much about the ride you refer to other than it's not meant to be as good as Somerford.

Another Kelsall hill vote its better than cheshire riding school. I think thats reasonably short and just around the edge of a few fields, and has more or less one jump height whereas Kelsall has jumps from 1ft to BE standard, and the going is always good.

Give me a PM if you fancy some company at Kelsall!!

They have a really good website if you search for kelsall hill fun ride.

Kelsall is good but not so many jumps as Somerford if that is what you are after. I was there last weekend too!
Cheshire View farm ride (near Crewe) is supposed to be good but not been yet & it is closed for the winter at the moment, when it starts up again it is apparently on every other weekend.

Cheshire View is literally 5 minutes by trailer from where I live! If you go, you MUST let me know and I'll join you.

They have loads of fences there and it's a long ride, all off road. There is just one little stony track you ride up and then back down as part of a bit loop. It's quite steep, but easily navigated.

I love the Kelsall Hill Ride too. Went there last year with Sport Endurance. Lovely, lovely ride.

Sadly there is a steep incline on the dual carriageway on the way and I rather think I wrecked our gear box going up there with two horses on the back.
