In-hand work has begun! :)

It rained a lot yesterday and this morning was wet too, so this afternoon was my first dry opportunity to take her out.

I was very pleased with her because despite the others neighing at her to come back - she ignored them and was happy to go on a little potter down the lane. I was very kind and took her the non-alpaca, flatter route. She looks really good unless she stands on a large stone on the tarmac. I tried to keep her over and off the middle, stony section, but of course if she was distracted by watching the sheep or admiring the view, she'd wander off course. We also went on a stony pathway and although it was bumpy, it was muddy under the stones and she was happy to walk on this.

I actually think that she is landing heel first! Her heels are still under-run, but they are improving.

Anyhoo... I promised photos...

She looks good, I LOVE her bridle, particuarly her brow band - amazing!

I would also like to swap my rather boring country lanes for yours with the lovely views...

I have a carpy video. I tried to show her possible heel first landing but it didn't really work while I was trying to film and keep up with her. Let me talk to photobucket. :p

ETA. The bridle is a mish mash of an old Kieffer that was chewed by her stablemate, a cheap replacement noseband (the Kieffer noseband was really, really chewed :( ) and the browband is from pinkequine.

Thanks Rhino! :D

Here's the very short video (I gave up filming as it wasn't really working), let me know if it works.

I went through it frame by frame on my comp and she's tracking up pretty well too, you wouldn't think that she was on three legs a few months ago.

ETA.
For JT - I found this photo. Bad angle but hopefully shows her new tootsies that she's grown OKish. :)

PS. I have re-sized the photos, hopefully Photobucket will catch up soon. ;)

you need another pair of hands for the filming ;)

they look great though :D, sooo much better, how long has she been on field rest/shoes off?

Re the stones on tarmac.. yes well I keep telling F that sometimes I do actually no what is best so if he could stop oggling the hedge for a non existant monster and listen to where I want him to put his feet..

It's been approx a year and a half. Unshod for most of that.

A willing victim to help with the filming would be great, although in many ways it was nice that she was so forward going. :)

Thanks everyone. I just hope that she keeps improving, hopefully in time she will have better heels, bigger frogs and concave soles. The youngsters will happily walk on the stones down the middle of the lane and I hope that chestnut mare will get to that stage too. :)

I'm really going to have to be good and not pop on board too soon.

Fab news :D Her feet are looking so much better than they were as well.

Fingers crossed she continues to improve now shes back doing some thing :)
