My chestnut filly has got 2 little black patches on both of her knees. Does anyone know where these come from? Her dad is palomino and her mum is chestnut

Many chestnuts have black spots though usually on their body.

Oh, didn't know that. Have steered away from chestnuts in the past but my mum brought home an extremmeeeely sweet 8month morgan filly and I've had my heart set ever since 
I read that chestunuts COULDN'T have any black patches on them..is it to do with genetics? Her grandsire was buckskin? xx

Most chestnuts have them somewhere i think? My boy has a bbig patch on his rump and my mare has a patch at the top of her leg

Last mare I used to ride was Chestnut. She had a black blob on her hip and a white blob on her shoulder, no idea why

They are called Bend-or spots my chestnut has got quite a few
