Morning all,

Just a quick question, does anyone have/used/know of anyone with a Cheval Liberte Gold/Magnum whose horse(s) are 17.2hh?

I only ask as we are considering one for my horse who at 4 years old is 16.3hh and still growing. We have looked at the spec on their website but we were wondering if she will fit properly or if we are better off getting a 510/511.

Any replies would be great thanks!

I have a CL Gold Classic, and my horse is 17hh. Absolute maximum, I would say - I would rather a slightly bigger trailer to be honest. The roof line does go up, so there's plenty of headroom when he's loaded and standing - he travels crosstied with full length breast and breech bars and no partition. He does have to duck slightly on the way in though!

17hh in trailer, if that's any help to judge... (ETA - he was 7 years old and 16.2hh when we bought the trailer... Bloomin' Irish horses growing aged 8! ).

Thanks for the reply! Very helpful! I think it's going to have to be a 510/511 as I can't travel her without a partition with my son's pony :(

Thanks again!

Yes, two would be a squeeze if one is 17hh+ ! I would have gone for an Ifor or a bigger Rice/Richardson type trailer if I'd known horse was going to get so big, but on a positive note, the CLs give a much smoother quieter ride for the horse and are very light to tow and handle.
