Cribbox won't cut it as it will take me forever

We creosote anyway, but wondering if anyone has tried mixing this with chilli oil or something to try and stop the chewing, all ideas welcome!

ETS the horses are only out for 2 hours a day, so are not bored or neglected

Oh that sounds worth a try! Maybe I will just smear the already eaten ones with droppings and wash over the rest - only question is, surely with every rain fall I will need to re-do?

Much heaper, and permnant, is buy a hose, chop it into 6" pieces and nail them to the fence, so they stick a couple of inches upright in the air. The they can't chew it without getting jabbed in the mouth. We have a really bad crib bitter/woodchewer and it works for him.

Must be the time of year and boredom I think for mine, because they are chewing too. Noticed one nearly chewed through fence post this morning! Think that's my 19 month old filly, but the 15 year old mare has been known to have a go if she feels like it. Both are on full vit and min supplements so I think its just end of winter boredom.

Typically I'd done all the tops of the fence posts with NAF crib stuff and the little buggers have chewed the bottoms instead! Luckily we have wire between the posts, so they can't chew that.

The NAF crib seems to work, but its a pain in the backside going round doing it and also works out quite expensive, although as I say I put it on the tops of the fence posts before Christmas and they still aren't touching those despite rain/snow etc.
