My naughty 7 month old JRT, has just nicked a chicken bone of my daughter plate, we heard her chewing in so didn’t go down in one mouthful, once we realised what it was it was too late.

So will she be ok as I know that dogs are not allowed chicken bones. She is fine atm!

the biggest worry with chicken bones is that they are too small and if they have a wee sharp bit, they will stick in the throat. i reckon that if she is ok now and hasn't choked then she will be fine. tell me a dog who has never nicked a chicken bone out of the bin at some point in their lives.

Mine for sure, I'm a stickler for ensuring my dogs never get near a cooked bone although they eat plenty of raw chicken.

I'm sure if she's ok now, she'll be fine.

we have a flatcoat retreiver x who has stolen entire chicken carcasses several times in his life, he is now nearly 15 so it hasn't done him too much harm!
The worry is whether a sharp bit of bone splinters off, as that is what will cause the damage.
Hope she is ok

There is a difference between raw and cooked bones. Cooked bones can splinter and can cause problems

Chicken bones can be dangerous, my 2 terriers I had for 17 yrs and I would never give them anything like that, but I do give my lab bitch chicken carcass, she eats them fine, I do kind of think that if they killed a chicken in the wild they would eat the lot, she has never had a problem, infact my terrier did die from choking on a peice of chicken with no bone in, that was tragic!!! On the whole its best not to give a dog chicken bones as they are thin dangerous bones.
