why is when you hard boil them some shells will just peel off but others are really hard.
Customer has just asked me this question in shop and hopefully someone on here will have the answer.
Chickens all the same age

Could the eggs be of varying ages? I *think* the fresher the egg, the harder it is to get the shell off...not 100% though.

Could it be that some chickens are eating more erm oh you know that stuff you feed them to make their shells hard, its like a mixture of shells and stones or something! Lol i dont know i just used to put it in the coops!

slink that is what she does everytime.
I was wondering if its what they eat, maybe some are eating more bugs and grass than others.

O well I'm still confussed

Could it be something to do with the egg shells being porous?

As the egg gets older there is more air inside and therefore the shell comes away easier. So, I suppose the older the egg the easier it is to remove the shell!!!
