Chickens and rats, a tale as old as time

We’ve managed to keep rats away for the best part of a year but out of nowhere we saw 12 in the coop at dusk the other day. We’ve moved the chickens into a rat proof outbuilding and have put poison in the old coop so should be rid of them soon, we won’t be putting them back into the same area.
My question is, are the eggs safe to eat? I assume no, but how long should we wait before we can resume eating them?

Are you worried the eggs cant be eaten because of the rats or the poson? If you have chickens you will get rats, no doubt about that. Ive always eaten the eggs from my chickens, with or without rats, and or poison. We have had no side effects and also given any broken ones to my dogs. And we have all lived to a good age, so your ok to eat your eggs. Unless anybody has any evidence its not ok!
