Freshman i think that would be a good idea dressage is poncy !!

yep definately in a few years !!

I dont ride him, not a good enough rider!! He would think he was really being downgraded if I sat on his back.......ha ha ha ha

. Have not ridden anything since we lost Geneve and dont think I am the calibre of rider for Vision, at least not yet.

He is not ridden during the breeding season much as he is so busy at home (as we do in-hand covering). Plus we have always found it a problem to get the rider to come to the stud to keep him going due to their own schedules during the summer.

He has excellent trainability and rideability, and is such a quick learner that he never seems to go backwards if not worked.

He was backed lightly last year as a 4 year old and ridden away before coming home to his first busy breeding season. He then went back around December to be ridden again and was going very well but then came back to the Stud around May time. I am not a fan of pushing young horses and am looking at the long term aspects with them. Vision needed to grow into his frame and mature in his brain a little bit and it has made all the difference with him, although now I think he can go away and be worked more thoroughly, plus I want to get him out to competitions.

This is the reason we are looking at the AI with him next year because we want him to keep up the ridden work and get going in competition............

oh thats a shame - i must say i did look at Geneve and think he is stunning and just wanted to say sorry for your loss !!

well if he doesnt go backwards then thats fine and i completely agree with not pushing the younsters especially if you have future goals for him !!

Is he a 5yo now?? Ai would be good i always use that as i always worry about my mares - i think my chestnut one would kill a stallion too !! ha ha

Well fingers crossed all goes well for you - you have a lovely horse there x

Thanks Stacey regarding Geneve. It was a huge blow to us that is for sure.

Vision is 5 this year. The plan was to get him out competing in the early part of the year and we had also been invited to bring him for a Jennie LC demo, but the rider could not get time off work..................

It would have been great to hear her thoughts on him.

We are pleased with him and the foals he is throwing that is for sure.
