Now the weather has turned, I am now in a 'mild state of panic' as I suffer sooooo badly with chilblains on my thighs - When they set in they are much bigger than my outstretched hand and quite frankly Kill !!

I wear several silk layers and thermals under breeches and have over trousers and or full chaps on to try and keep skin warm and dry.

Any other helpful tips on what I can do and / or creams that help ease the itching sensation would be gratefully accepted before I chop my legs off - Cheers Friends :D

I feel your pain!!

I suffered with chillblains on my thighs for the first time 2 years ago. Ouch!! I found just the normal chillblain cream helped mine. As you do, I always make sure my thighs are well covered. I use a thermal layer, then lined trousers then waterproof over trousers if needed. Think there is something called snowfire that helps as well!!

Yeah I think snowfire is a solid cream. Look on net, i'm sure you could find some on there. Since using over trousers mine have not been so bad, but when they itch I could chop my legs off like you!! My doctor didn't even knoe what they were on the thighs!! I thought I had some sort of flesh eating bug, huge purple patches that had raised pinkish spots when I went in th shower!! It was my RI that told me not to panic, it was only chillblains!! You could always pee on them, thats supposed to help!! (not sure how you would do this if they are on thighs!!) Good luck to you too!!

Hi there! It's nice to know I'm not the only one to suffer from these! They are like huge welts and so hot and itchy. My doc told me to use betnovate but the creams from chemists specifically for these is v good. I usually end up wearing layers of thermals, jods and then lovely warm lined full chaps. I may look like michelin woman but if it helps... :)
