Childeric saddles?

I don't have one but they are HUGELY popular in North America (in part because Childeric has done a massive amount of promotion, to be fair, although all the French jumping saddles are popular because they suit the Hunt Seat style) and lots of pros use them.

There are lots of different options for models and semi-custom set ups but that does mean you have to ride in the one that's right for you and people tend to form their opinions on their own experience, which might or might not be with the "right" saddle. I don't know if they offer the sorts of models that are more popular here as all the ones I've seen/sat in have been very cc, as the style and fashion dictates.

Price-wise they're on par with Butet, Amerigo etc. although I'm not sure how that works here and they (and a couple of the other top end French saddlers) really don't seem to have targeted the UK market at all.

As far as workmanship, I'd say they're on par with their class and one of the selling points is they break in extremely easily. The other side of this though is they tend not to wear the absolute hardest and some people, especially "hunter-land" where it's standard for people to school in jeans and chaps, have had trouble with wear and tear. Like most of the French saddles they're very "pretty" too.

I know a few people who have dressage models, although they're not as fashionable so you don't see as many. The people who have them, like them (they're not the sort of price you'd spend on a whim) but I've only sat in one once so can't really judge.

If you ask/look on COTH I'm sure there will be plenty of opinions - there are certainly enough of them about! I'd suggest they're maybe not quite as fashionable as they were five or ten years ago, but that's probably more because other high end brands have made inroads than through any deficiencies in Childerics themselves.
