hi everone!

I was just wondering if anyone out there knew of any other juniors who compete in seniors bsja????
i teach a girl who is just about to start competing in seniors on her horse (shes only 12/13) and i was just wondering if there was anyone else out there as she's a little worried she wont find any friends anywhere near her age!!!!
we're based down south east..

thanks

Sorry but I don't know about bsja - surely if you are junior then you compete in juniors (presumably 16 and under?).

Why would a 12 yr old be competing in seniors?

umm i know lots of 15 yr olds that do- but they've all done juniors..

a child can compete seniors at the beginning of the year in which they turn 13...

children that aren't small and skinny by the time they are about 15/16 will move up onto horses but some very capeable riders with good horses do seniors at a young agexxx

boxers, I'm not 100% sure but I think it's all to do with strides & stuff. If you are riding a horse the distances between fences (especially doubles & combinations) will be too short in junior classes as they are set for ponies. I know in Trailblazers if you are a junior on a pony you compete against seniors too. BSJA people, am I right?

I watched Hartpury BSJA Puissance this evening on Horse and Country TV and there was a 14 year old girl competing on a large horse in the Puissance - she did incredibly well but unfotunately knocked down the spread but cleared the wall.

No. In Traiblazers Juniors and Seniors are separate competitions. You can't jump ponies (under 14.3) in Senior classes in Trailblazers either. The BSJA allows ponies to jump in Senior classes, but not horses in Junior classes.

I'm from SE

Unfortunatly I do juniors. Will let you know if I hear of anyone x

juniors are strided for ponies and seniors are strided for horses (but u can register a pony as a horse- mostly if its a large pony- but thers not really much point in my opinion as the pony will probably have a job with the strides) however a junior rider can compete a horse from the beginning of the year in which they turn 13.. they can still compete both tho.

xxxxxxxx
