I'm in the market for a new pair of long riding boots. Due to the fact I'm a prize shorty (4'11...), adult boots, even the short length, is still too long for me. Because of this, I'm always had to make do with chaps or gaiters and a paid of short or paddock boots as I have a fairly wide calf for a shorty, about 36cm with jods on, which is about the standard size for an adult, but obviously wider than what a child would have! So, the 60 million dollar question is, does anyone know of a brand/make that produces childrens long boots with a wider calf as I've hunted and not been very successful lol? I've got a budget of about £150 and I'm not opposed to any particular brand or make. I'm a size 4 shoe too :) any help/advise would be gratefully received!

Thanks!

I've just bought my 8 year old daughter, who has giant size 5 feet and wide calves, but is approx 135cm tall, a pair of Tally Ho rubber boots. If you google Horseware Kids Tally Ho riding boots they will come up. You might be looking for leather but these are very nice as rubber boots go.

Could you not get them stretched? I sent mine to a place in Kent which was free delivery, they had them just over a week and got an extra inch, they could have gotten up to three ish inches. Really good service and the leather came back really soft!

Thanks so much everyone!

Asmp, I love those MH ones! I'm a sucker for MH stuff so am going to visit the Robinsons store in Basingstoke this weekend (It's about an hr away from me), and see if they have them in stock there and if not, I'll take the plunge and might order them online! I had MH ones many moons ago when I was even shorter lol and they lasted for years!

I'm about the same height as you and I really struggled to get boots to fit. I'm not sure how wide my calves are but my comp boots are Cavallo Junior Jump - they are brilliant. I also fit the Moutain Horse junior long boots as well

Thanks so much for your suggestions everyone, I really appreciate it :)

I've ordered some Mountain Horse Junior High Rider boots and a pair of Mark Todd boots which are also long but they are a short adult length :) I am a horrific decision maker with stuff like this so I thought I'd order 2 pairs and keep the pair I prefer and send the other back. Hoping both will fit! Thanks for your help everyone, I'll write back with what pair look/fit nicest. I'm hoping it's the Mark Todd ones - not only were they cheaper but I really like the look of them! On a side note, I really didn't realise how many boots today have laces on them, really not a fan of this but glad I managed to find two lovely pairs without!
