Hi, i'm after some advice please,
my son's new pony came with a saddle that fits her nicely, but is much too big for him, he rode his old pony in a safari cub and it fitted him really well, i'm trying to decide whether to get him another cub for this pony (his brother has the cub on the other pony) or buy him a proper saddle, however, he's not very tall, about 3foot, and most pony saddles seem to have quite long flaps,

so, sensible head says buy him another cub & wait until he grows to buy him a proper saddle, however if i take him to local shows over the summer, would he get marked down massivly for having a cub saddle, he's probably not going to do any proper showing, but i'm dithering on which to buy him

any suggestions??

thanks

RD

You could get a cub saddle, it wont matter at local shows. But if the other saddle fits well keep hold of it! Kids grow so quickly that it might not be long until its ok for your son and hopefully it will still fit when your son is ready.

You cant buy confidence! So if your son is happy in the cub i would definately go with that and have the odd practice in the bigger saddle to help him make the transition.

(i have loads of tack from that theory too!)
