Hello,

Going to buy my child a riding hat, his head is measuring at 50cm.

The hat I'm looking to buy has size options of

XS (44-50cm)
S (50-54cm)

I'm wondering should I buy the S size so he has a bit of room for the hat to last him a bit longer or would this be too big? This is the hat here:

It does say it has an adjustable dial at the back. Thanks in advance :)

Go to a shop, try one on there and buy it there.
Ebay may be cheap, but for the sake of your child's head if a fall were to happen, the journey to make sure the hat fits properly would be worth it.

We have one of those hats and the sizing on xs seems generous to me. I love the dial as boys can share and I can make it small enough to fit my three year old. It fits three and six yer old if that helps?
I'd not go bigger as sloppy hats are No good!

Go to a proper shop and get your child's head fitted properly, and buy what they suggest.

It's madness to try and guess or fit yourself where a child is concerned.

Agree you should go to a shop and get one fitted by some one who is trained. My 19 year old was trying some on yesterday and its not just the size but the shape too. Some just dont fit even though they're the correct size.
