So, acting on the advice of you lot (all your fault:p), I have given Henry a haircut. He looks very, very smart - it's the best haircut I've ever given him, very few tufty bits left. In fact, he's half the dog he used to be...

However he has something to say to all the clipper-happy fiends that egged me on:

'Yooz lot haz a lot to anser for, I iz freezin, if I still hadz eny ballz I wud hav frozed 'em off! Wot did yoo wantz to go an tellz the hoomin to give me a haircut for, yoo no she iz eezily led...'

Fank yoo Kao. Will let hoomin take over...

I was told he was a Cocker (he's a rescue so I have no paperwork or anything), but I do sometimes wonder if he might possibly be a Sprocker due to his size. He's a lot bigger than the majority of Cockers we come across on our travels! Mostly, I just call him the Spaniel Fiend:p:D

Aw he looks very handsome with his new hairdo :D
Is he an ESS? Rarely see any now with the proper curls on their ears

My ESS has quite curly hair on her head and ears, her boyfriend has even more really curly

I always laugh and call her Bellana from startrek the clingon woman ha ha

He's lovely! Archie is a big boy too - perhaps yours is English Show/Working which is apparently archie's background....

Could well be Vicstress, or he may just be an oversized show type as you get those too. He's just within the standard, but most that we meet do seem very titchy next to him.

Bless him, it's gone so chilly today that he's having to wear his jumper:o

lol :D
Only just found out that the ESS's am used to seeing are show types. The working type of ESS don't have the curls. So I guess if I was to get an ESS it'd have to be a show type, am a sucker for the curls :D

Poor boy.....I'm afraid arch gets shaved right off as he gets bad skin....he's got a Newmarket fleece and Rambo waterproof! Oh dear.

He is the spit of our working cocker who is also tall (if I could figue pics I'd post) ours needs a clip, anyone got step by step instructions? Only ever done horses!

I go in the direction of hair growth, very very carefully as I don't use the blade guides any more, so one slip and I'd have a bald dog! You ideally want to bath, totally dry and comb all tangles out first as a dirty coat wears the blades out faster. :)
