chipped bone(worried)

my pony got kicked 3 days ago, his leg is really swollen, i had the vet come out she looked at it and told me to keep him on box rest for two weeks until she next comes back to jab the other horses and then if it still swollen she will take an x-ray. does anyone know if his bone is chipped how long he will be off work for? and can you tell from the outside weather his bone is chipped?

This happened to my horse in july last year. It was her off-front leg is still recovering now, had on/off problems with it along with a few others! her leg blew right up and was very sore for her but also got infected which didn't help! Had scans etc done and clearly showed a slight chip off the cannon bone.
You cant really tell externally if there is much damage done, depending on where the injury is will also depend on the healing process. But i wouldn't worry too much untill you know for sure what the damage is.
My fingers are crossed for you, box rest & bute will be the best thing for it.
Is he lame at all?

but the vet has given him bute two weeks box rest till she next visits and tramidizine plain.
