Chiropractor, not sure what to think

Iv been waiting for my new horse for 6 weeks, due to turn up nxt week. He's had work due on his poll neck and pelvis area which was all ment to be out. He's in work daily for 15 mins on hill work. The lady has now been out and stated she ain't happy with him traveing and wants to do a months more treatment first. It's a 6 hr drive in the lorry but iv waited so long I think I'm going to leave it now as iv had enough and transport has now been cancelled. Owner says she has to listen to her chiropractor which is fair enough but seems a bit extreme to me that he can't travel.

sorry to sound dumb but why are you getting a horse with all of these problems?

If the horse is unfit to travel then I would say that it has more issues than they are letting on or the Chiro wants to squeeze as much work out of this horse as possible. I would also be interested to know if the vet feels the same way and also if the vet is in agreement with the work this Chiro is doing.

Travelling in either a lorry or a box for even a short amount of time is hard work on the horse. He spends his time constantly adjusting his body to come to terms with shifts in weight and balance so Im actually not surprised that he is not travelling yet.

I agree. Travelling is hard work for the horse and a 6 hour journey is long. I hope the horse is cheap and perfect for you or otherwise i would walk away from something needing that much work though. there are plenty of sound horses on the market at the moment.

I agree entirely

Monsters seems to love an "issue":D

Monsters, How is that horse you were talking about recently, really interested to know:)

Hello, yes my boy who was showing extreme behaviour? He's doing ok but slow. We have stopped all rodeo and rearing so I'm keeping my hopes up for him.
This boy is a rescue case where the others were put down, he's free to see if I can work with him and would do my best but it's one thing after another and can't seem to get him to mine.

So glad to hear he is doing well, massive big up to you. Just had a thought re the other horse, if you really want him home and you are prepared to continue his "therapy" then it is always an option to travel him in a lorry with no partitions or one that is rear facing. Much less physical stress. Its not like he is going to a numpty who is going to ignore his "issues":)
