i think my horse has got something not right with his back, i rode him round the block one day last week and he didnt feel right, you know when theres something not quite right with your own horse. every so often he turned his head and would shoot forward. when i tried a canter he was really flat. he didnt buck or anything but he held his head really low so i walked him home. im really worried because he's only 4 and i hope it wont have a longterm effect on him. 2 people have suggested a equine chiropractor, i have never used one before and just want to know your opinions on them, are they better/worse than a ''back person''. i just want to get him sorted out, and do you think she'll take a look at his saddle for me to see if this is the cause?
advice/opinions welcome
thanks

i've kept horses for 28 years, and used a lot of "back people" over that time. i would now never let anyone other than a mctimoney chiropractor loose on my horses (or myself). they are gentle (unlike a lot of other manipulators, osteopaths etc), and get the most amazing results. definitely as highly recommended as possible, well worth the money.

she charges £43 for a session if the horse needs work done, but i'd pay £100's if i had too!! i feel awful even though its nothing i've done, he could have done it in the field bucking or rolling. do you think she would check his saddle for me?

After having a 'back person' solve absolutely nothing with my horse when i had the feeling she wasn't right i turned to my vet who in turn recommended a chiropractor - best thing i did, she's worked wonders. xxx

I'll second the McTimoney Chiroprator - mine has worked wonders on my horse whose pelvis was tilted/rotated. It was causing him to nap in the school and just not be right in canter - a few sessions and he was back to normal. They are really good and well worth the money. Not something to worry about, either - don't panic that they won't be able to 'fix' him. I'm sure it will be something that just needs a few minor adjustments and you'll be off again.

My friend has a 4 yr old who had a tilted pelvis as well - the McTimoney lady sorted her out as well
