I'm farly new to the horse scene and when my mum and dad bought me my first horse a 7year old 15.3hh Irish Sport Horse Chestnut mare called Rua (Red in irish as she's a very strong chestnut and she's orginally from Tipperary) and I had rode her twice in one of our barns the first time my friend rode her first to see if she was quiet and he came off and said she is very quiet and very good so one day me and my cousin Lauren were heading up to the bottom arena with me on Rua I turned round to Lauren and said this is going be the day I'm going to fall she just laughed and said you'll not you'll be grand and I told her No Lauren I am going to fall off today. So when we were in the arena I had stopped for a minute while my cousin Lauren got a couple of pictures off me on her my other cousin Hannah was ridying her horse Punch and her friend Amy ridying a Pony Flick in the arena right beside me like we were right beside eachother as I went up to the top of bottom of the arena which is beside the top arena so hannah and amy went flying past me and then Rua bucked me off and I broke my collar bone we thought it was maybe cause of Punch and Flick flying past us. So when I went down from the arena not knowing I had a broken collar bone I was telling Alec what had happend when I was taking off her saddle and said to me check if she's in pain but wait to Beverlys down and get her to check her and then talking to Audrey and she told me too get her checked by the chiropractor when he comes up in a weeks time as she was getting her horse done and she is maybe in pain. So when the chiropractor came I stood as he told me the damage he told me that she has a vertabrae out of line, her back and shoulders are very painful and that her ribs were fractured and this was why she bucked me off I was so upset as there had remarks been made to be about how she was a scat bad and was for f*** all and that I would have to sell her cause she is very bad mannered and bucked me off but they didn't know that she was in that much pain and neather did I at the time and it also upset me cause she was in that much pain and I didn't know about it. She is now getting better and the chiropracor is back up in 2weeks to check her. It is very hard to find out that your horse is in that much pain and you aren't aware of it. So please get your horse regurly vetted, get the dentist up, the farrior and the chitoprator!
