Chondritis

Has anyones horse been diagnosed with Chondritis, my poor Checky has had a bad kick, and his cartilage round his ribs is all swollen, vets orders was 6 weeks off!! First noticed when girthing up, he turned round and tried to take a chunk out of my arm - certainly not him and even bucked when i asked for canter.

Anyone got any info on this (permanent damage etc)!!???

I had this myself and it was sooooo painful! All I could take was anti-inflammatories but it went away eventually.

had a 4yr old mare with osteochondritis in hind stifle joints, resolved with time and she was totally sound and went 2* eventing.
prob doesn't exactly answer your question though...
