Hey just wondered if anyone could maybe help me choose a bit for ob :)
So iv spoken to a two old owners and one had him in either a waterford snaffle or pelham and also told us she tired a gag which he hated and other hackamore and eggbut snaffle, iv tired him in eggbut, loose ring snaffle and 3 ring gag, hes stronger in the ring and out hacking with others yet to jump at home hes not really strong, hes quite laidback, also cause im still not used to his jump im worried if i put him in something stronger and i get left behind over a fence would be very uncomfortable for him :o
Any advice/suggestions would be helpful thank you :) x

exact same as my boy i advise you put him in something he knows if it worked for his previous owners. if he didnt like the gag and if generally laid back i would personally say a waterford but i am a strong believer in these being used correctly from you sig you look experienced but these bits can be lethal in the wrong hands(sorry for being a tad cynical and yes i guess any bit in the wrong hands is bad!)

We use a Wilkie on our event horse for XC he is forward but comes back well in it when required, it has less leverage than a Dutch gag and I find horses prefer it and the rider is more confident.
