I’m looking for recent reviews on these. I’m looking for a bareback pad that is as comfy as possible for both the horse and I as well as being as secure as a bareback pad can be. These look lovely but never sure if they are worth the money.

I’ve tried a best friend comfort plus bareback pad and didn’t like it at all, it really presses over the wither.

I want something I can keep in a box at the yard for those spur of the moment rides when I have left my saddle at home. Pony is so shiny and I am so incompetent that last time I tried proper bareback and he hopped sideways at something I slid straight off the side and bust a rib!

Love my Christ lamfelle pad. The foam inserts help to stop it resting so much on the wither.

The sheepskin is fabulous quality - that's what you're paying for :)

They are incredibly secure and a different league to the best friend ones. They come up on ebay for £150 ish all the time so worth keeping a look out for them on there.

They're gorgeous, I ended up using mine instead of a saddle for a year on a high withered slippery horse. It feels secure on barrel pony as well.

Thanks guys, sounds like what I’m looking for! I did see the Kramer ones, wasn’t sure how they compared. BBP can be a little, erm, sharp, so added security is a good thing!

I have an Iberica. Absolutely worth every penny. I’ve ridden in mine for 2hr hacks in w/t/c/g and it is very secure. And cosy. So, so cosy.

Horse likes it too.

That’s a great recommendation, thanks, I think it’s going to have to be done!

My friend has one on her flatbacked quarter horse that couldn’t tolerate any kind of treed saddle. He’s very comfortable in it and she loves it to ride in. Very secure, even during impromptu gallops across the countryside and one rein stops!! I’ve ridden in it a couple of times, super comfy and feels very secure. Would recommend!
