There was I starting to feel festive... Got the cards for work from the local RDA group... Listening to festive songs on the way back to the office...

Now I have to write the things and I am not relishing the thought... I am currently thinking of all those poor hunt secretaries who have RSS at the moment and biros that have gone dry...

You may all take bets on how long it takes to go from "Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a very prosperous New Year" to "Bah Humbug you ol' swine"...

Where do you draw the line? It is important to let those who are involved know that you are wishing good things for them and to be jolly etc and make sure all are remembered but seriously!

OH and I have decided to make a donation, equivalent to the amount we'd spend on cards, to the air ambulance, and email all our friends with an e-card, and explain that we've donated instead of sending paper cards.

but I know what you mean Paddydou, how does one decided how many is too many?

Appreciate all the sentiments expressed but I guess I am old -fashioned I'm afraid. I love writing them, and sending to all kinds of far-flung places with much love, and love getting them back . The post is a joy at this time of year, huge fun and I LOVE putting the cards up around the house.

This is exactly it. I figure if I write a card I must put something nice in it. I really enjoy the round robins that some people send out. Problem arrises that it is so difficult coming up with something new each time for each card and also after 6 hours of solid well wishing you end up so grumpy! I don't want to write grumpy cards or just sign my name as I don't think thats the spirit...!
