Hi.

My Daughter (8) is doing the Christmas gymkhana at our yard and I'd really like to dress her up along with her pony, who is a black mini Shetland, 9hh.

Does anyone know where I can buy some stuff or even make something. I have no idea on what to dress them up as, all I can think of is something red with bells on.

I'd be so grateful for any ideas and if you have any pictures, that's be great.

Thanks guys. x

I always wanted to dress a pony up as a present and go as an elf when I was a lot younger but didn't have a pony haha. Maybe you could do that? Cover an exercise sheet in wrapping paper and stick a bow on the pony's bum/head with tinsel bridle and then her as a standard christmas elf:)

We did this year's ago and did the pony as a Christmas tree wearing an old green rug with baubles and tinsel sewed on and the child was the fairy we won!

How about the sugar plum fairy from the Nutcracker Suite ?

Shetty could be the nutcracker prince (with soldier hat and braided bib) or he could be the one of reindeer from the end of Act 2. Antler head piece would be easy to get hold of.

We (I mean my daughter and pony, not me!!) dressed up as a snowflake a couple of years ago - dyed a sheet blue, cut out lots of snowflake shapes from some ironon interfacing (sticky one side but not other) and got some "icicles" from Poundland to stick along the bottom of "rug".... Daughter dressed in white with a bit of tinsel and cardboard snowflake covered in glitter. Bit of tinsel, sparkly hat cover...Hey presto - little snowflake! Great fun to make! A white pony helps, but not essential :D
