I had a brainwave this morning.....

I wanted to do something for my beautiful mare that would give her a surprise on christmas day....so I came up with a christmas haynet....I intersperse vegetable treats in the hay, so as she is munching through she will uncover a surprise every so often...and as I usually put tennis balls in her water bucket to stop it freezing tonight there will be 3 apples for her to go apple bobbing for....I just wish I could see her face as the surprises unfold.......

anyone else doing something spesh!!!

I would put apples in water buckets but last time i tried to do that Monty got bored of trying to get them out with his mouth so put his foot in the bucket and pulled the bucket over

Share horsey is getting super-nice organic carrots and a swede from Waitrose. He'll also get as much time as possible out of the stable doing fun thigns.

I get my 'hiding treats' fun with the hamsters... but totally love the haynet idea!

taz gets a new rug on tomorrow he got his new horslyx lick yesterday and has apples in his water and will get loadsa apples and carrots tomorrow when i turn him out lol oh and his xmas flavoured likits lol

Scooby got an apple Horslyx and a bag of treats (which are heart-shaped, naaawww

). Nothing big or expensive, but he appreciated them greatly when I gave them to him today! I can't put the lick up in his field because the other horses would just chase him off it and he wouldn't get any, so I'm just going to give him a bit whenever I bring him in... could last quite a while!

My daughter hides carrots in haynet every night, god only knows what she has planned for pony tomoz. All i know so far is that pony prezies are allready wraped and at stables waiting for morning!

that's really sweet!!

Mine and their friends are getting some cakes of some sort. So far I don't have a recipe, but i have oats and brown sugar soaking in guiness and organic apple concentrate! In the morning I shall add some fresh apples and carrots, and whatever else I have available and bake in muffin cases. I hope they like them - the mixture already looks gooey and yummy!

I picked up about 16 bags of Waitrose Organic carrots for 26p a bag tonight so they will also be all crunching on those, and some sugar lumps....

ohhh just had a thought I could make them all peppermint creams too - yummy but then I would have to get off my backside for that...maybe for valentines!!

Happy baking everyone. x
