What’s everyone’s plans for Christmas, i go away Friday with horses and dogs for 6 days for Christmas ?, I was planning on giving the 6 year old a week off to chill and play in the field before clipping and getting back to work but due to wheather he had enforced week off last week ?‍♀️?‍♀️

he’s then having his teeth done ✅ also when we arrive back ,

looking forward to not driving for 6 days horses outside by bedroom window and drinks and hot tubs ?

I am going away for 10 days to visit my boyfriend, I could have taken the horses to his farm but have decided to leave them up here. Arty my big show/dressage horse is going to the teenager across the road, she is going to have him with her pony and keep him fit, she is so excited.
Mabel my hunting/trekking mare is going to a friend who has just moved back down here and doesn't have a horse yet so she too is very excited and has lots of rides planned. Great to have them both kept fit as have quite a lot of competitions, rides etc on in the next few months.

We officially finish today but we have to provide cover over the holidays. I'm working tomorrow, Thursday and Boxing Day. I'm parrot sitting for a friend on 28th and 29th and we go back on the 2nd.

Exciting! Will you be updating your thread "Building the Best" once they arrive?

Urgh, had a busy week of finishing work and Xmas prep planned but have been floored by a virus. So I did 1 ride yesterday, and we both haven’t totally forgotten how to ride and be ridden, but I’ve spent the day in bed today. Hoping it will clear, and that I won’t be contagious, as we have lots of family over for Xmas !

Due to the weather, Xmas and my impending operation Amber is having a good month off. It won't hurt her; she hasn't had an official holiday since she was 4 but has had a few weeks off here and there due to injury/niggles/covid etc.
She's 7 next year and always fairly sensible so it shouldn't be too bad bringing her back into work. This also coincides with a major motivation loss on my side as I've got stuck with the lope again and just do not know how to fix it. I'm sure a month away and I'll be keen to go again. I've got some new reins under the Xmas tree which will be interesting to try out.

Work is wild- I’m working 14.5 hours overnight through to 9am Xmas day, sleeping, setting an alarm for dinner, then resting again after as back for Boxing Day. I do have the day of the 28th off and hoping to go to a driving show then but I’ve got the lurgy so my pony is hopelessly unworked :( Had a lesson booked for Friday but had to pull out.
I did have 4 days off last week and went to Olympia 3 of them though!

Im planning on hibernating for the entire festive period.
Horses have all been turned away due the recent weather, will bring the ridden 2 back into work when the weather perks up a bit. So intend to enjoy cuddle times /little walks with our puppy Stirling. Other than that will eat drink and be very merry.
Merry christmas to all at HHO , have fun all:)

I finish work on Friday and for the first time since I was 17, I don’t have to work between Christmas and new year so will get to spend plenty of time with OH, cats and horses. Hoping to start some in hand work with Tali as she’s been turned away for a couple of months.

it’s my stepmum and dads turn to host Christmas dinner and I must make puddings but it’s only a 20 minute walk to theirs so not far to get home for horses.

My wife & I are retired, we have 2 horses, we will sort them out each day over Christmas. There is no livery available 25th & 26th December & 1st of January which we wouldn't use anyway. The boys are part of our family & we want to see them over Christmas & New Year. Eldest daughter who rides one of them is off to Austria snowboarding from Christmas eve till new years eve so were are on livery duty all over Christmas so no real change in our days. I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas & a happy new year. Don't fall off, get trampled on, head butted or kicked, don't send the ambulancemen or nurses any more work than they already have. ;)

Lots of rides dressed in tinsel with mince pies planned for us :D

In reality it probably means desperately trying to hang onto the tinsel/reindeer ears and santa hat in the wind & rain whilst going up a hill somewhere but it'll be fun all the same!

Today is my last day off until some point in the new year and even then it wasn't a day off as I had one to clip for racing tomorrow and apparently no one else can clip ? so I will be racing tomorrow, everyone is working as normal Friday morning and then I just have my skeleton crew for Xmas eve and day before I head off in the truck again on Boxing day ? it's a good job I don't do a thing with my lot over the winter! In my world showing is a summer past time.

I'm still in college so I've been taking my break from sciences to go riding plenty with my friends! I went on a lovely hack yesterday which was (my fault) the first time my mare has been ridden in over a month ?
