I just wondered if anyone else was out for a jolly Xmas ride?

Today we did a rousing trot to the pub moderately tinselled up.

Out with friends. I had the lovely Rigsby, BF was on BH, it was BF's 25th ride on a horse, I think - although he says I must stop counting now!

I love to go for a hack, bedecked in tinsel, on Christmas morning.
Sometimes if we have visitors for Christmas, we also have the dogs and some walkers joining us too - this year the foot volunteer is my sister.

We’ve just got back from our Christmas Eve tinsel hack. T hasn’t been ridden for 3 weeks due to laziness, weather then a lost shoe. He was feeling rather ‘jolly’

Edit: yes I know he looks asleep here, he does that. Looks and handles like a donkey on the ground then you get on and SURPRISE!
He was like this on box rest too, calm as anything in the stable but when you try to hand walk him he goes into kite mode.
Luckily today he was just amusingly jolly….i am not a brave rider.

No pics but I did a bit of pony-squishing today and got on the little pony bareback for our daily jaunt down the lane! The older, bigger one also had a nice walk out today

i’ve been at work yesterday today and tomorrow, was planning a boxing day morning hack but the hunt are meeting on the lane the yard is on, and we don’t wish to be following behind against our will

back to work for them both after that though!

I usually go for a bareback hack every Boxing Day but sadly my pony is currently quite sorry for himself with hock and suspensory issues and awaiting vet treatment, so I'll either have to skip, or take one of the others. I'll tack them up properly, though!

I always used to hack out on Christmas day when I was at a livery yard but haven't done it for ages now, got no one to go with now mine are at home I do miss it I must admit.

No Christmas riding here - don't celebrate Christmas now anyway. Haven't ridden since late Aug as mare recovering from melanoma surgery only just started lunging her.

We had to move Christmas dinner to tomorrow due to illness in one of the people attending…so went for a 3 hour super speedy hack with a friend. She remembered the tinsel, I forgot! Kids and ponies very happy, lots of canters and some adventuring due to fallen trees. My son announced it to be his best Christmas Day ever!

We hacked out this morning with friends. Bo has had 2 weeks off due to weather etc, so he was very jolly indeed!

Lots of jig jogging, especially when we unexpectedly encountered a small herd of deer in one of my neighbours sheep fields.

P.s he had red tinsel in his tail too but you can't see it in the pic.

P.p.s he did unfortunately eat a tiny bit of tinsel Now waiting for sparkly poo.

I rode Christmas Eve and today. Didn’t overly tinsel up as didn’t think that far ahead and rode with my son on his scooter who said I was embarrassing

I rode today. It was the first ride since August when my mare came in very lame with a big swollen leg and subsequently had surgery to have a bone chip removed.

I got the go ahead to ride from my vet on Christmas Eve and today we went for a short tootle up the lane.

Best present ever.
