What date do you usually take your decorations down? I still have mine up, i will probably take them down tomorrow. Its back to porridge too quick :(

Mine are coming down tomorrow, for some reason tehy've been annoying me this year and I was for taing them down on Boxing Day - which is mega unlike me!

Nope mine are still up although didn't bother putting the tree up this year  I have garlands on the ceiling and have used the cards we received to decorate the walls as normal.

My SiL takes her decorations down on Boxing Day every year

Will probably take mine down by the 6th though

Nope ....although ive been eyeing the tree up today who's now looking slightly worse for wear through being terrorised by 2 kittens on a regualr basis!! On several ocaasions i have almost been tempted to get off my a** and start packing it away!!

Down by 12th night - so as we go back to school on Wednesday, will probably do it on Tuesday afternoon. I never like doing it, though. It means that the worst part of the year is just starting :(

Just taken mine down, but I have an excuse for doing it early - we are moving house, and they are one of the first things to be packed up! Normally I would have given them another few days.

No it means Spring and summer season is on its way - time to get deciding which shows, what qualifiers to attempt - i always focus on spring, long warm evenings, bbq's at the showground, glass of wine perhaps! The warmth is closer now that it was in November! xxx

6th January - 12 days of Christmas............... I hate putting them up, and I hate taking them down but I can spend hours looking at the fairy lights lit up in the dark - they are magical and peaceful.

love the smell of my tree!! mmmmmm but it will burn well!! hasnt had water for a week as cats keep drinking out of the pot. Kept chasing them but they won the fight!! he he

I normally put ours up asap, and take them down as late as poss, but I normally am away a lot with work, so don't see much of them otherwise! This year I'm at home, and I'm fed up of them. The tree is looking fine - its a living one (we plant them at the stables every year) but it will be coming down tomorrow or Monday.

I love fairy lights too. We have some of those twigs with fairy lights, and some tiny lights inside feathers/leaves that I bought in Thailand, so they live on the mantlepiece all year round, so you still get the nice light.

Usually I dread the end of Xmas too, as its the start of the mid winter, but this year I've been thinking a bit more positive - I was remembering how I was gutted in Nov when it snowed, and there was the whole winter to go, whereas now we've got two months of it out of the way, which can only be a good thing!

All down this morning as I was bringing one of my horses back into work today after a very long 8 months off. Getting all sorted so I would be able to concentrate on him. Uhmmmm so 2011 has not started well he is as lame as a duck, swinging his front leg out from the shoulder when he walks - to avoid having to bend, looks like a kick or twist to the top of his leg, swelling ++, unless a minor miracle happens x-rays next week. Cannot believe this, he was only in work about 2 months when he damaged his tendon in the spring. Seriously think this boy does not want to work.

pic of the Tree in our snug we took it down today, it looks so clean and tidy now . Although we do still have the tree and decs up in the sittingroom which we will take down on sun night.

Ours come down tomorrow :D

This year I'm actually a little sad. It's been a great time :D :D, it might also be our last Christmas here (house is for sale), so very special :D (been here for nine years).

I love it when the decorations are all down and the house is cleaned top to toe :D. It's the start of the new and the fresh year - so much promise :D

Christi your snug looks lovely...with or without Christmas tree and lights!

I've got to work on Monday and will be too tired to take the down on that night so will take tree and decs down Tues or Weds night I think...

I always put mine up on December 1st and always take down new years day :D
So I spent a lot of this afternoon taking them down and tidying the front room after wards, gave it a bit of a spring clean in here, just the rest of the house to go.....
