Hi Everyone!
I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with chrondromalacia in their horses and can share their experiences with it.
My 13 year old Welshy, had intermittent lameness coming from his stifle. Which after explorative surgery he was diagnosed with chrondromalacia and a crack. He came home and had a steroid injection into his joint after he heeled guy unfortunately soon became borderline lami. So no more steroids! He’s been on box rest since August so 6/7 months now. He went lame badly again with a huge fluid buildup and we decided on having one dose of Arthramid.
So far this injection has been amazing. He is comfortable and I have even started to ride again. Only in walk but we’re building up for trot. Still no field t/o until soundly trotting for 10 minutes.
But I really wanted to talk to others who have dealt with similar situations!
Has your horse repeatedly gone lame with this condition?
