chuffed to bits :D rode grace for the first time :D

had grace 3 weeks now and she hasnt been ridden since october last year, she has had a week off because she decided to take a chunk out of her leg, vet is happy with the healing and said she could continue exercise, so i lunged her yesterday in full tack and she bronced like a rodeo horse round and round in canter !!:S walk and trot was ok but canter she just stuck her head between her legs and pinged off all fours! i have to walk prince in hand to keep him ticking over till nerve blocks and take swelling down on his bad leg! so thought bugger it, il just get on her, she is fine in walk on the lunge and i just wont push my luck with her. so tacked her up, flapped the stirrups around leant over her, not bothered at all!! so got on and walked around the school, atleast if she dumped me it would have been a soft landing. she was perfect! so lead prince along side and she was great, prince just decided hanging off my boot with his teeth the whole way was a good plan, so decided to ride down the lane, she walked out infront and was huffing and puffing at things but was brave and walked past them, she has how ever got a thing about just stopping dead, she doesnt do anything just stops and i struggled to get her going forward, i did after some encorougment. i think she has just been alowed to stop and another horse take the lead. there was no way i was getting off and leading her!! so just kept on at her till she walked on, shes only 7 and has done nothing but local hacking her whole life and it was like riding a wobbly 3 yr old. shes got a spagetti neck so no steering there! but im sooo chuffed i just got on coz i was abit down with prince being out of work for so long then her injuring herself!! very pleased cant wait to rider her 2moro and do some walk half walk transitions in the school.
