Couldn't be prouder of progress between show 1 and show 2! overall much more relaxed so easier to load, tack up, hand walk, and then to wash off and load at the other end......and its all those little bits that make or break as much as the riding (or it is for me, i can cope with anything under saddle but being hoisted round the car park irritates me to death!)

Not the best start to our warm up as someone got bucked off at speed within 2 minutes, fortunately she was ok bar a fat lip and the horse legged it away from me and was caught instantly as I am not sure how he would be with a mare running loose up to him (certainly not as chill as Raf!)

Re-grouped and warmed up sweetly, still got quite stressy about being left as the only horse in the warm up at points but a bit more rideable than show 1, ie managed to keep moving if not in a very pretty or logical fashion so i have high hopes next show we might be able to move and remain a smidge more on the bit if left!!!

had a friend in with us for the test (the Young Horse tests are ridden as pairs) so he was 100% chill and totally on side, didn't so much as look at a single thing and stayed with me even when the other pony had to ad lib some circles etc.
The surface was a slightly loose/deep so that sucked the trot out of him a bit but he WALKED (for a 7.1 even!!!!) and the canter work felt great, lots more connected and balanced than show 1 :)

over the moon with 7.08 overall and a win out of 3, only pony with a qualifying score so that is him off to Hartpury in July.

Next on his agenda is some indoor prelims to practice for champs and hopefully get more relaxed in the test arena on his own.

Congratulations! He was a great find, wasn't he? I've enjoyed following your progress on here and FB, you do such a lovely job with the youngsters.
