Churning up deep litter

My mare has always been on deep litter over the winter but this year she has taken to digging it up and rolling lots so I end up having to take lots of wet out defeating the point of me deep littering. (Saving time and providing warmth) Any ideas how to stop this?!

My gelding is neat and tidy in the stable and his deep litter bed is down over the back 2 thirds of his stable and I haven't had to take it up for almost 3 years. Front third is rubber mats. My messy, pee-a-lot mare started to do exactly as you describe so I took her deep litter bed back 2 feet so it only covers the back half of her stable. Front half mats. Job done though she was always messier than Sunny.
