Yes i feed it to both my horses. Its good stuff. My TB (7yrs) can be 'clicky' on the back end, when fed the Cider Vinegar in his feed it is hardly noticeable.
My old boy (20) is fed Cider Vinegar along with Super flex and Devils Relief. He has been on it for about 6 months now and the improvement is remarkable He became very stiff in the mornings coming out of the stable and was often unlevel when first hacking out......since feeding these supplements i dont have these problems anymore.
It doesnt work for ALL horses tho, its just trial and error. I would say its DEFINATELY worth a try.
Good Luck and i hope it works for you and your horse
PS - give it time to work! It wont make a difference right away, id say you need to give it atleast 8-12 weeks to get into the system properly
I use it and its brilliant my mare has it all year round and has glucosomine in the winter as the vet said she isnt at the stage for needing cortaflex yet, I notice a difference if i run out for a couple of days and cant get to the feed shop she definitely takes longer to warm up etc, its good for the coat too!
Yes I used to use it on my old TB, it gave him a new lease of life, much more mobile, I really believe its worth using and its only cheap, they say adding lemon juice as well also help with joints.
Also use it on my two current horses, great for the coat and for their appetites.
I used to feed cider vinegar until we had a horse with ulcers and the vet pointed out that adding more acid into the stomach was a seriously bad idea ,I stopped for the whole yard . I used to buy it in big water container sized containers I used it up for washing frogs which its supposed to be very good for.
I cannot rate this stuff enough!! I have a 16.3hh TB mare and she was getting a bit clicky behind and the vet suggested using this.
Since being on it her condition is amazing, her coat is beautiful, she is a lot more supple and it has had the added bonus of stopping her from being so spooky (I read somewhere that it is also supposed to calm a nervous horse) And has had this same effect on my friends spooky TB
Although I will say I use the Equimins Cider Apple Vinegar norally, but the last lot I bought I could only get NAF and my mare hates it, she eats around it!
The Equimins is £11.99 for 5litres + postage, and my mares gets 2 glugs a day, one in each feed
