cigs, booze and horses? what an odd comments ...

Was reading one of the dailies today and it was talking about the inflation figures (???!) and the expected drop in interest rates. Lots of comments were added including this one ...

Was amazed to see horses in the same sentence as fags and booze would have expected to see say gambling etc.

I know all too well horses are expensive and addictive but in this sentence .... how odd?
