Cirencester Park Fun Ride

Do you mean a travel mate or just riding mates? I'll be your mate :D Equestrian Fairy might come, as might KerryFlower and EF will ask Muffininio there could end up being a hoard of us!! We'll all be your friends :)

We went last year and I hope we'll be there again.

Good ride, lots of grass and woodlands, safe canters and plenty of optional jumps, including some (small) XC jumps and ditches.

It was well organised and although it was quite busy it was not the 'traffic jam' that Badminton has become.

Nice place to take my new horse for her first party would you say?

Im going for my second ever fun ride, I ride in Cirencester park everytime I ride so know my way around but am looking ofrward ot the jumps being opened up and the extra ones they will put up.

I got bronced off at the Miserden fun ride so I'm hoping to stay on board this time around since it should not be as exciting it being we hack in the park all the time, thats what Im hoping for.

If you see a 45 year old short woman chasing an over round section D, wave, that'll be me!!

Im going too. If I can get there that is. Dont mind if I go alone or with others - my boy is super duper well behaved :)

Sorry for the late reply, I did not get home till late last night.

Yes, I would say so.

There is a relaxed enough atmosphere that youngsters should not get too whazzed up before the off and then lots and lots of really safe grass where you can allow then to blow off steam if needed, unlike Badminton which has a tarmac path right in the middle of the section of grass where if they are going to explode and get silly, they will (I've had that two years running).

There are lots of nice wide rides, with jumps at one side and grass the other and last year there were a few folk using the ride to work their youngsters.

I really really want to take my boy but have no transport :o( if anyone wants some company & going alone from South Wales ....... lol

I've been going to go the last few years but never have, sounds lovely, I'd want to get my trailer floor checked before I go anywhere and it needs a service, I'm skint so will have to wait.

I did the Windsor one few years back, thats a lovely ride and well organised as are the few I've been to in Gloucester, Appley farm, and others organised by the same people.

We've given Badminton fun ride a miss for years its just too busy, maybe they should do it over 2 days, it just gets too congested, especially by the jumps with the photographers on, and how many times should one person be allowed to try to get their flippin horse over them when others are waiting, so we don't bother anymore

I went last year with a couple of friends and really enjoyed it. The route goes up the famous long grass stretches (some with logs to jump) as well as through the woods and across fields. Fences range a lot, some very small some reaching maybe 90cm. Ground was very good last year as well even in the shade where it could have been muddy. Wasn't too busy either, easily managed to jump what we wanted to jump and there was no waiting around - thoroughly recommend it.

Hey, jus seen this post! How many of you are going this Sunday? I'm looking for someone to go with with my newly retrained ex-pointer. I don't want to gallop around but keen to do some jumps n equally dont want to walk the whole way!

Having to go alone, would be good to meet up anyone else needing company.

Have heard its a lovely ride and would like to see it rather than flying through the course.

Very new to jumping and might have to give them a miss this time round, but my mare pretty good if anyone else wants to.
