clamping tail?

Hello

I'm sure I read somewhere that having a horse clamp it's tail down when you touch a muscle on the hindquarters is significant but I can't remeber what it means or where I read it.

Katie always has her tail clamped down tight, although she is happy to have her back end touched, stroked and groomed, she doesn't put her ears back, coudl this be a sign that she is suffering from discomfort somewhere, should I get a back man?

If you touch the top of most horses tails they will clamp them down.

If you worrid, call and get a Mctimoney practitioner out. they are really good and it doesnt hurt to have them checked.

you are right to be concerned AFTER the initial response you should be able to move the tail about fairly freely. with most horses it is a sign of soreness in the back so yes I would get a phsyio to check him over
