Not 100% sure but think it means you have to re-apply for your licence & may need a medical - same as your driving licence at age 70/75? It may be that you are a "certain" age in 2028 when this applies - used to be age 40 or 50 I think.
You mean you have category C LGV license and on your 50th birthday you will have to take a medical to re apply to renew your license. Class 1. 2. and 3 licenses have all been changed to LGV Large Goods Vehicle for many years now. I hate to see people buying 7.5 ton horseboxes being mislead advertising that no HGV license is required to drive on car license, this is not true and misleading. I am surprised H&H allow this in todays P.C. times

Depends on when you passed your test. If it was before 1 January 1997 you're ok but it was after that then yes you are I'm afraid (up to 3.5t it's OK) Have a look on your license should tell you.
You need to look at the categorys on your license, if you passed your car driving test before January 1997, then you automatically got the new category C1 license. You can only drive a maximum of 3.5 tons gross weight vehicle on a car license i.e; category B license. you can tow a small trailer not exceeding 750kgs on that 3.5 ton license making train weight 4.25kgs. Hope this helps.
