Me and my friend are organising a fun show for our yard and need some ideas for special prizes. We have things like prettiest mare, most handsome gelding, funniest fall, most improved and pony who looks most like its owner. Any more ideas? We need 10!
Also, we have SJ classes, handy pony and games, but any better ideas for classes? It has to be for kids from 5-17 years

Coloured - judged on nicest markings
Best six legs - watch the dads roll their trousers up! Judged on action as well as conformation !!!
Thelwell lookalike class
Best condtioned and turned out in hand (great one for the people with youngsters or who don't want to compete ridden)
Chase me charlie cans - a you need a line of plastic water carriers and gradually take one away to make a narrower and narrower fence. Run outs or kicking over a can is elimination. We had a horse at our old yard that was an expert at this and would jump a single water container!

How about pass the parcel on horseback. It used to go down a treat at the fun shows we used to run. Make sure every wrapper undone gets a little prize - i.e. packet of polos or a hoofpick type of thing. (You do have to cheat a bit, just make sure you have someone telling you when to stop the music so that every person in the class, gets to undo a wrapper). Another fun class, was to take your bridle apart and put it together again - the first one to do it was the winner. (You'd be surprised how may kids and adults have no idea how to do this).

A class that everyone loves at our local show is horse and hound. You ride over a very small jumping course then you have to get off and jump over the course with a dog! Its hilarious to watch!!
