sorry have probably spelt it wrong...is it possible for horses to be claustrophobic? i don't mean as in terms of being in small tight spaces but in terms of not liking other horses coming into their personal space? my horse really really hates it if another horse comes near him in the school. he's ok if it comes behind him/up his bum but if something comes head on or round a corner in his direction he loses the plot, spins and sometimes i come off. he's done it to me tonight- the other horse wasn't about to run him over or anything but was coming towards him on the track and i was on the 3/4 line....he did it to me at camp the other week too- i was at B on the track and other horse was circling and had just got to X coming towards me and he just about turned and did one!
now...he is well known for being sharp and spooky anyway and he does like to look for excuses not to work...but this does seem a bit odd. the other lady riding with me tonight said i just had to deal with it and he was being naughty but i'm not sure...he genuinely seems worried. now i have tried to work through this but it doesn't seem to improve and because i mainly event its not an issue at comps as i just take myself off to a corner of the field.... any thoughts?
