Yo fruity - I used to have a Wintec. They are VERY difficult to clean - bit of warm soapy water and your 2nd best grooming brush and thats it! If you're feeling really rich, Wintec make a spray cleaner but not really necessary. If you want to pm me your address I'll put my Wintec cleaning spray (yeah, more money than common sense!!!) in the post for you as I now have a different horse that the Winterc wouldn't fit so have had to buy a leather one. The Wintec spray is just sitting in my tack cupboard gathering dust. xxx

Brush the dry mud off with a dry brush then use a sponge/brush and warm water with a squeege of fairy liquid or the proper wintec cleaner like sunnymum says!

It does seem like getting it wet is the last thing you would want to do, but they really do (almost always!) come up spotless after a wash! It will need to be left to dry overnight though so perhaps a job to do at home rather than at the stables depending how warm and dry your tack room is!

Fruity - I owned a Wintec Isabelle years ago & contacted the manufacturer for cleaning instructions. I saved the email explanation - here it is...:

Thank you for you query I hope the following is useful to you.

To clean hi-grip sections featured on the Isabell use a damp cloth and water and for more aggressive cleaning use soap and water. The nap of the equisuede will not ride down however it is likely to rub smooth owing to the dirt and dust being embedded into the equisuede fibre of the material. The nap of the equisuede can be restored by cleaning is using a detergent and scrubbing it with a stiff brush, such as a fingernail brush. The best way to do this is to thoroughly wet the equisuede, apply detergent, scrub vigorously with a stiff brush and then fully rinse the detergent out of the equisuede and allow to dry.

To remove any stubborn marks from equisuede, cloth or equileather sections ( this is what the lower part of the Isabell flap is made of) of a Wintec saddle we recommend "Carr & Day & Martin Synthetic Saddle Cleaner".

All Wintec saddles should be dried out of direct sunlight and heat or solvents should not be applied to the materials. On a Fine day the saddle should take only a day to dry, however is depends on the weather and how wet the saddle has got.

The Isabell ahs leather girth points which should be cleaned with saddle soap and dressed with good quality wax based leather cream. Do not use and oil or greasy dressing as this will over soften the leather and cause the girth points to stretch.
