cleaning dog bit

My SBT has just been bitten by a neighbours dog - she's got one puncture type wound on her neck. I've cleaned it with hibiscrub and given her some metacam, just wondering what others would do to help try and prevent infection

Have you clipped the area to have a good look, you will need to clip anyway, it will cause for infection if the hair is getting stuck to discharge and scab, you may need anti B's otherwsie as you are keep clean.

All humans that get bitten by dogs have anti-biotics as no dog bite is clean. My guess would be the same for your horse
