What is the best way to get rid of white greasy marks, from the horses sides, off leather boots?

Have you tried saddle soap?

i washed them off with just water immediately after EVERY ride. when its almost dry i start brushing them with normal shoe wax and it works well...

Wash with warm water and glycerine, allow to dry and the use the genuine, in a tin shoe polish applying with a brush, work well into all the stitch lines and your boots will last for ages.

A baby wipe will also remove it if you are in a hurry.
