Cleaning leather gaiters

Can other people tell me how they do it please? To my shame I haven't cleaned them before, just wiped off mud stains, but daughter is using them on Saturday and I really ought to have them sparkling for a PC Area competition.

I use normal saddle soap and buff up with a Shoe shiner

I do the same as pelly, being careful to only use the shoe shiner on the outside or the gaiters would be very slippy indeed!

I use saddle soap to get dirt off and use shoe polish (the outside of the leg) for shows.

Thank you very much - that's pretty much how I thought it should be done, but I didn't want to wreck them by getting it wrong!
